I've had problems with alternator whine that turned out to be a problem with the radio. What that looks like to me is that the ground wire contacted the B+ terminal somehow, shorting it out. Anyways, it doesn't happen all the time, but I do notice that if I pop in a CD sometimes, the flickering starts and the car surges. •If the alternator is not performing, it is important to resolve any additional forklift side problem(s) in the charging circuit.
